This webinar invites guest speakers Kelley Bollen and our own Morgan Rivera to discuss the importance of taking a proactive approach to post-adoption support, and covers strategies that can be preemptively addressed, with new guardians helping ensure forever homes.

Along with discussing post adoptive strategies, this webinar will include ideas on how to implement those strategies in the shelter environment; how to coach on the decompression period as a dog adjusts to their new environment; and how to start with introductions to other family members, including already established pets in the home.

Kelley Bollen is a nationally recognized expert in the field of shelter behavioral care and has worked with animal welfare organizations for over 20 years. Kelley has a Master's Degree in Animal Behavior, is a Certified Animal Behavior Consultant (CABC) and a professional member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). She works with animal welfare organizations to educate staff and volunteers about all things behavior to improve the quality of life for cats and dogs in shelters.

Morgan Rivera has been involved in animal welfare for nearly 20 years in a variety of capacities from volunteer to shelter manager. Prior to joining the team at GoodPup she worked for the Humane Society of the United States for 7 years and continues to serve them in a consulting capacity to this day. Morgan recently received her masters degree in Shelter Medicine from the University of Florida’s veterinary college, is a member of the IAABC, and a CPDT-KA. Morgan’s current and past roles have allowed her to work with shelters and rescues around the country, giving her a broad view on the challenges facing animal welfare today.
