We have a Euthanasia Pre-Certification Course scheduled for February 22-23, 2024.   PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE EMAIL BEFORE REGISTERING TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE CHANGES MADE DUE TO COVID-19.

According to TN Code 44-17-303, "Euthanasia shall be performed only by a licensed veterinarian, TN VMT or an employee or agent of a public or private agency, animal shelter or other facility operated for the collection, care or euthanasia of stray, neglected, abandoned or unwanted non-livestock animals, provided that the TN veterinarian medical technician, employee or agent has successfully completed a euthanasia-technician certification course."

This course is a 2 day course that has been approved by the TN Board of Veterinary Examiners as the first step to receive a Certified Euthanasia Technician Certification in TN. The course is 8am-5pm each day.  Day one of the course will be held remotely (at your location) utilizing ZOOM services.  Please ensure that you have Zoom capabilities in advance of registering for the course.  Additionally, all participants will be required to have camera capabilities on their phone or computer for the ZOOM portion of the course and must be present for the entire course.  Day two of the course will be held onsite in Murfreesboro at Rutherford County PAWS, 285 John R. Rice Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN  37129 to consist of the course test and practical.  Practical groups will be divided to ensure social distancing with start times being at 8:00am or 11:00am.  Masks may be required during the practical portion of the course.  You may use your own mask or one will be provided to you.  You will be required to select your preferred time during the registration process and we will try to meet that.  All practical times will be confirmed at least one week before the class is held.  Snacks and lunches will be the responsibility of the participant.  In addition, course materials will be shipped to the address you use at registration before the class date.

Those that wish to attend this course MUST register and payment MUST be processed before the applicant can attend the course. Once registration and payment have been received, the registrant will be notified via email that they have been enrolled in the course. Any registrations not paid in full 1 week prior to class will be unregistered from the course and the space given to someone on the waitlist. PLEASE use the person attending’s email address and cell number, not that of the billing department. We need to be able to contact the person attending in case of emergency or with updates regarding the course.
