Understanding cat behavior and using appropriate handling techniques helps the individual cats, the overall feline population, and reduces the risk of injury to your team. Cat behavior is complex; however, this presentation helps to clarify what cats are trying to tell us and shows you ways and tools to keep your team safe. Because stress is directly linked to their immune system, decreasing the amount of stress cats experience in the shelter will reduce the overall number of cats who get sick in the shelter. Attendees will leave this session with an understanding of safe handling techniques and cage set up for various scenarios including decompression and spot cleaning.
