The practice of wildlife rehabilitation requires that rehabilitators, in collaboration with licensed veterinarians, use appropriate medications to treat pain and infection, and to prevent disease. In order to accomplish our goal of providing proper care for our wild patients, we must first work to establish a positive, mutually beneficial relationship with one or more veterinarians in our community. In this course, we will explore ways to engage veterinary professionals and enlist their assistance, and discuss commonly used medications.
